The Ultimate Aerial Adventure in Mauritius
If you are looking for an adrenaline-pumping experience that combines breathtaking scenery with heart-racing thrills, zip lining in Mauritius at Casela Nature Park is the answer. This world-class adventure park on the island’s west coast features five spectacular zip lines – including the legendary 1.5-kilometre Tulawaka line where you soar directly over lions, zebras, and ostriches. It is an experience unlike anything else in the Indian Ocean.
Casela Nature Park is set within 450 hectares of stunning natural landscape at the foot of the Rempart Mountain. The zip line circuit is designed to progressively build your confidence, starting with shorter lines at lower heights before culminating in the park’s signature long-distance cables. Between zip lines, you will navigate suspended rope courses, cross aerial bridges, and – for the bravest – take on the canyon swing, a free-fall pendulum experience that delivers the ultimate rush.
What Makes Casela Special
What sets Mauritius zip lining apart from other destinations is the unique combination of aerial thrills and wildlife encounters. As you glide along the Tulawaka cable at speeds up to 50 km/h, you look down to see African lions lounging in the sun, zebras grazing on the savanna, and ostriches running below. It is a safari from the sky – an experience you simply cannot get anywhere else. The park’s natural setting against the dramatic Rempart Mountain backdrop adds to the spectacular scenery.
The rope course section offers a different kind of challenge. Suspended 10–15 metres above the ground, you navigate balance beams, cargo nets, swinging logs, and Tarzan ropes. Multiple difficulty levels mean beginners and experienced adventurers alike find their perfect challenge. The course is designed so you can skip any obstacle you are not comfortable with – there is always an alternative path.
Safety Standards
Safety is paramount at Casela. All equipment meets international EN and ASTM standards and is inspected daily. You wear a full-body harness with a double-clip safety system – meaning you are always attached to the cable at two independent points. Helmets and gloves are provided. Every group is accompanied by certified adventure guides with first aid training who demonstrate proper technique and monitor you throughout. The park maintains an excellent safety record and is regularly audited by international safety bodies.
Best Time to Visit
The adventure park operates year-round, but the dry season (May–November) offers the most reliable weather. Morning sessions starting at 8–9 AM are ideal – cooler temperatures, better lighting for photos, and smaller crowds. The park may temporarily close individual lines during heavy rain or strong winds for safety, but this is rare. Afternoon sessions are available and often less busy, though slightly warmer.
